I had to have a friend from Chicago ship me a new dress from the store there as there were none left in my size on the East coast, and brought it to Anna's. I was greeted by incredibly friendly people who listened to me vent about my issues while they worked and did a clearly better job of pinning and marking the appropriate spots.
They had the alterations done within the week the week of prom , and did it perfectly. I will be taking another dress to Anna's this week to be altered for sorority recruitment in the fall, and I have no doubt I will be completely satisfied.
Anna's: once reliable, not always reliable. After that, I'd occasionally bring in pants to be hemmed - the quality seemed less than normal, the price a little higher, but it was just hemming, no big deal. The last time I went, probably 2 years ago, taking a pair of jeans for hemming and for the waist to be taken in. I assumed they had done an ok job and waited to see the work once I got home. Wound up cutting the thread that joined pants together so oddly and haven't seen any holes yet.
Might give them another chance after a 2 year hiatus and see if they've become reliable once again. Poor Service — I went in to get a special occasion dress altered. I was told they could do it. However, when I went in to get fitted a second time, a different lady told me that they could not finish it and that it was too complicated.
I would have been fine with this, except that I was now out of time to take it anywhere else. She told me that I would need to try another alterations store. Also, the alterations they had already done were inaccurate. It was still far too big to wear. In addition, I was told when I picked the dress up that it would cost one amount, but they charged me more. When I asked to speak to someone about this, I was told that nothing could be done. They did not apologize or offer to help me find a solution to correct the problem.
