We received thank you cards as well as an invitation to their Wildlife Artist of the Year awards which was an amazing event. DSWF continue to keep in contact giving updates on how our fundraising money is being used. I loved my experience with DSWF and hope to be part of their fundraising efforts in the future, I would recommend this amazing charity to everybody.
The day itself is overwhelming and extraordinary, but the months of training and fundraising are difficult. Not only is it an opportunity to take part in one of the worlds largest and best sporting events but also to become part of an incredible group of motivated, talented and extraordinary people.
Running the London Marathon is the phrase used by most, however from experience I know that the big day is really a reward for months of pain and discomfort — such is the demand of a training plan to complete the The David Shepherd wildlife foundation, especially Marianne, were a constant source of help, support and motivation to push through the tough times.
So, what are you waiting for? Its the chance to do something amazing, with incredible people for an extremely worthy and necessary cause. If you are successfully chosen for our London Marathon place, you will be running in support of two charities: The Running Charity and the Mali Development Group.
We have joined forces this year to be able to bring you the opportunity to run in this prestigious annual race. Hopefully you already know about the fantastic work that The Running Charity do, empowering homeless and vulnerable young people to take control of their own health and wellbeing, supporting their individual journeys to finding their feet.
What you may not know too much about is the small volunteer-led charity, the Mali Development Group, who support communities in Mali, West Africa. They support projects that provide food and shelter to street children, and those particularly helping communities to make decisions for themselves, having concentrated quite a bit on empowering and developing the skills on women.
