University Governance. University Administration. Accreditation and Memberships. She is a very hard grader on papers but …more allows a rewrite for a whole new grade. You will learn a lot from Dr. Class is always engaging and her choice of readings is flawless. She demands hard work, but will reward it and is more than willing to help if you ask.
Nice Teacher. If you're not interested in animals and nature I wouldn't recommend taking the class. Semi- hard grader, requires very indepth thinking. You actually have to read - I appreciated this, some people don't. She requires participation and insight that most professors won't demand of their students. She is a strict grader and an awesome …more teacher. I was in the same class with the person who posted below and am pretty sure I know who it is as well.
I thought the class was great. If you came out of it thinking Koppelman was weak, you probably didn't put much into it. Too bad for you. She was one of my favorite professors. She is a somewhat hard grader, and the subject matter is thick: she will make you work, but you learn a lot and she is REALLY nice, and keeps the class interesting and fun, while still keeping it academic.
Jun 4th, I genuinely feel like I've learned so many new skills for my very first English class. This class was on Zoom, but I was still always excited about it. I know have a teacher on campus who I can go to. Accessible outside class Inspirational Caring. Choose to take her classes- it's worth it. You will read a lot, but you will also have great class conversations that are stimulating and provide space for students and Dr.
K to express their thoughts. K is accommodating, considerate, and even through online settings it feels like she respects you as much as you respect her. Respected Lots of homework Get ready to read. Mar 1st, This was the best class I have taken at Seattle University so far. Professor Koppelman is so nice and understanding. There are a few essays and an easy presentation. We did not read. Nov 3rd, One of the best professors in the English department.
She challenges you to really push yourself in the assignments, but her grading is fair and she gives really great feedback. You'll get a good grade if you keep up with the reading and participate in discussion. Jun 3rd, Textbook: Yes. A great, passionate professor, but an extremely harsh grader. I wish she lowered her standards a bit and realized that her students are only learning how to write well--we're not professional writers yet.
Other than that I would definitely recommend her. Jul 29th, Koppelman was an excellent professor who stimulated ative listening and learning. She sparked my interest in what I had previously thought was a dry and boring subject matter.
She is personable and always available and willing to help. I greatly enjoyed taking her class. I would highly recommend her. May 21st, Koppleman is one of the best professors I have had so far at Seattle U. She expects a lot of her students, but has a way of making even the most difficult material interesting. She is a fantastic educator and willing to help out her students outside of class. Definitely take one of her classes!
